Formatting USBs
- Open Files.
- Right click drive, press "Format..."
- Set the "Volume Name"
- Check: "For use with all systems and devices (FAT)"
If you get a message like:
Error formatting volume
This partition cannot be modifed because it contains a partition table
- Run:
gnome-disks
- Select the disk or drive you want to format.
- Be VERY careful you don't format your own hard drive.
- > Format Disk > Format...
- "Overwrite existing data with zeroes (Slow)"
- "Compatible with all systems and devices (MBR / DOS)"
- Volumes > > Next.
- Set the "Volume Name"
- Check: "For use with all systems and devices (FAT)"
- Click: Create
