2005-10 Oct - Lots of changes coming
The last three months have gone so fast, time for another newsletter.
Big News!!
Last month Monique received her New Zealand visa. It took 6 weeks from turning in the application to having it stuck in her book. We were amazed as it took almost 5 months to receive one of the police checks she needed for the application. Anyway, the date is set for our departure, and we have booked our flights. After spending Christmas in Canada with Monique's family (everyone's going to be there), we're going to be leaving wintery London on the 18th of January and arriving in summery Auckland on the 20th of January.
Fraser is really really looking forward to going back to his native homeland, as he's been overseas in Australia and Britain for nearly all of the last seven years. Monique is starting to get pretty excited herself. Every now and then she'll break into a big smile and do a little jig and say something about going to New Zealand.
We'll have to let you know how it goes when we get there.
New Email addresses
All good things must come to an end, and our old easy-to-remember email addresses have gone the way of the earth. Our new easy-to-remember emails are fraserredmond@gmail.com and moniqueredmond@gmail.com
. Our redmondfamily website will continue to be in the same place, and our new emails are there if you lose/forget them.
And now for our latest travelogue - Scotland!
Monique's parents came over for a visit, but instead of coming to London, they flew into Edinburgh, Scotland (where they're from) and told us to come up for a week to visit. They wanted to go up into the Highlands of Scotland and told us to come along. So we did. We saw many castles, the most notable being Drum Castle, home to the Irvine clan, of which Monique is a part.
We spent 3 nights in Inverness which we used as a base in order to go to such places as John O'Groats (supposedly the most northern part of mainland UK), Loch Ness, and the Isle of Skye. The weather wasn't fantastic, but it could have been much worse.
Also, have a look at our pictures of our encounter with the Highland Cows. They're kinda scary up close.
Merry Christmas
Yeah, it's early to be saying that, we don't know about other parts of the world, but the christmas goods are already on sale in the UK. But we'll probably be too busy packing to send another newsletter before christmas. Hopefully we'll be able to send you an update our big move early next year.

Marokopa Waterfall
We took our nephews down to see the glow-worms at Waitomo Caves, we weren't able to take any photos of them, but we also went out along a windy road to one of NZ's prettiest waterfalls. Take a look for yourself.
Congratulations Owen and Moana
Fraser's brother Owen was sealed to his wife, Moana recently, which was great to be here for. We also got to meet Moana's family afterwards. (Not sure what this means? Read this.)
In Case You Missed It...
Free backup software
Fraser had spent a while looking for a good backup solution until he came across Mozy. You register an account with them, install their program on your computer, and tell it what you want to be backed up, and then it backs up those files to their servers quickly and securely. 2gb of free storage, and the easiest and best backup solution Fraser's ever seen.
