2004-09 Sep - Paris and other adventures

Well, it's been a busy year, and although we kept meaning to get around to it, we never quite managed to send out a newsletter. But it's a pleasant surprise now, right?

Monique has just gone back to school after 7-8 weeks off for summer holidays. She kept busy during that time with things like a week-long girls camp with church, catching up on cleaning, and sorting through some of her belongings; as well as relaxing - particularly while the Olympics were on. Since our last newsletter earlier this year, Monique has been called as Young Womens President in our Ward, which has it's ups and downs.

Fraser's work has continued to be busy and stressful, with all sorts of deadlines looming, but it's now easing off, and he should soon be able to start doing more interesting work, and learn some new programming languages and technologies. Fraser has also been developing a mild addiction to eBay, and also made a big purchase which he's extremely pleased with (see the sidebar.)

Our trip to Paris

Monique toured most of Europe a few years back, but the one place she never got to see properly was Paris. So we finally got away for a long weekend in the city. We really enjoyed our time there, but decided we were happy not to be living there. Heres some of our pics of the city of love...

Owens Wedding

Well the women of the world are finally safe, because the Redmond Boys™ are now all married off (and to women of a variety of nationalities). Owen and Moana are still away on their honeymoon, but if you check their site again in a couple of weeks they should have some photos up, in the mean time Craig and Cancy have a few on their site.

Blog

Several months ago I (Fraser) came across some cool sites called blogs (short for web logs) that link to a bunch of other interesting sites and pages. I found myself sending emails to various people that might be interested in things I came across. Eventually I stopped doing that and have started my own link-blog which I've put on the homepage of my website. I usually update it each weekend, and theres always a variety of interesting links, in topics like games, technology, science, religion, humour, news, and others.

Arundel

It seems like a long time ago, but for Monique's birthday in April we went to the south countryside of England and visited Arundel Castle, which is near the village of Slindon, where Fraser's Mother's Father's family comes from. Heres some pics

Travelling again

We're heading back to Canada again next week for some much needed R & R. Not to mention the fact that it's been two years since Monique last saw her parents.
