Turn To The Ward

My companion and I are in a real fix.
We want families to teach, but we're plain out of tricks.
So our little dilemma we took to the Lord,
And you know what He said? "Turn to the Ward!"
So here we are now. twas our answer to prayer.
We've got lots to tell you, and so much to share.

Now we have some Ideas right here in our grip,
And we know with your help we just couldn't slip.
We'll show you the ropes of what you can do;
Of how you can help us, and how we can help you.

It all starts with prayer, Just get down and pray
Ask who is ready to hear what you say.
Then write down the names that come into your mind
They'll be the ones the Lord wants you to find.

Now gird up your loins, cause this part's pretty tough.
But the tough get going, when the going gets rough.
Walk up to your friends and take a deep breath.
Ask them a question like, "What happens after death?"
or, 'Do you like to read, cause I've got this great Book..."
Or, 'Would you like to come to Church and have a quick look?"

If yes, is the answer then the first part is done.
You'll be floating on clouds and you'll shine like the sun.
Next, invite them to something -- activities are cool,
Like Family Home Evening or maybe Sunday School.
During the week you'll find that Mutual is best.
Introduce them around, they'll fit in with the rest,
Homemaking is great, If she's a friend of your mum's,
Or Primary, if you find that their just little ones.
If he's your friend, Dad, you know what to do,
Plan something with your quorum and this is step two.

Introduce them to us, that is step three.
Let them know what we do, on our badges they'll see.
That we're Sisters of Israel, when they look in our eyes.
They'll say, "Boy, don't their spirits shine like the stars in the skies'"
Then we'll all hold our breath, as they make up their mind,
And they'll say, "Hey, I'd like that, that would be fine,"

We'll teach with the Spirit, and tell them of Christ,
We'll teach them of families and Eternal life.
They'll want to be baptized and we'll all set a date.
And as it says in the scriptures, your joy will be great.

So please will you do this, not for us, but for you?
We want you to enjoy the same joy as we do.
The Prophet has promised if we pray night and day,
The Lord will find people to pass by our way.

Baptizing families, the joy is so great.
Leading them to the path which Is narrow and strait.
If you do what we ask and start this very day,
And pray that somebody will pass by your way..
You'll bring people to Christ with the greatest of ease.
Your joy will be full, and the Lord will be pleased.
